Thursday Thirteen

Here's your weekly dose of 13 random...

things/thoughts/happenings!

1. Oh how I l-o-v-e me some Gossip Girl!! And apparently other New Yorkers love it too...Lisa Loeb and (my girl) Sylvia Weinstock was on the last episode. We all know how much I love Lisa, but Sylvia?!?! She's practically my idol!! Okay, well not really my idol, but she is a cake genius! Who can forget how I followed her around last year at the Bridal Show at Gotham Hall until she finally stopped to take a picture with me. LOL.

2. The Tivo is one of the best inventions...ever. Hubby and I have been getting a lot of use out of it, that's fo sho!

3. Sasha is potty training very well! She has learned (very quickly) that she gets a treat when she goes potty outside. Phew!

4. We went to Shake Shack and it was great...but Hubby waited in line for an entire hour. Can you imagine?!? Sasha and I played while he was in line. The line NEVER slowed down either...all this for burgers, fries and shakes? Insane! We had a blast though and Madison Square Park is the place to be...lots of dogs everywhere! (will post pics soon)

5. Jen is graduating with her PHD from Columbia! I'm so proud of her! CONGRATS LOVE!!! The world is your oyster!!!!!

6. My Husband makes the BEST and I mean the BEST egg sandwiches in the world!!! He doesn't cook much, but what he does and when he does, he has totally mastered. His grilled cheeses are pretty darn good too. My Sister loooved Hubby's grilled cheese sandwiches. He certainly knows the way to my heart - an egg sandwich and a gossip magazine...talk about comforting!

7. Tates Cookies - Y.U.M. (can be found at Whole Foods)

8. Speaking of Whole Foods...it's by far the best place to grocery shop! Everything is organic (but they also have conventional items too) and the price is right too. I could spend hours in Whole Foods. If you haven't been...go...run...as in now. And make sure to get their reusable bag. It feels great to Go Green!

9. I've said it once and I'll say it again...read Skinny Bitch. Yes, it's a tad vulgar, but it's eye opening.

10. Subway + Rush hour + All 5 feet of me (I was wearing flats so I can't claim an extra inch or two) = getting elbowed in the mouth by another passenger who decided to lift his other arm up. Tall Man's Elbow, meet Short Girl's Mouth. Ugh!

11. Hubby's birthday is coming up. Any ideas on what I should get him?

12. My recipe for the Best-Salad-Ever (everything organic of course): mixed greens, chopped chives, chopped tomatoes, chopped turkey, lemon juice mixed with a touch of olive oil. Enjoy!

13. We decided to go on a cruise for our 1 year anniversary!! My friend, Tracy, really suggested it and she's right...we've been to resorts already. We're going to spend our actual anniversary day here in NYC and then leave for the cruise about a week later. It's a 7 night (returning on the 8th day) cruise in the Caribbean on Royal Caribbean's Adventure of the Seas! There's even golf on the ship, a rock climbing wall, an ice skating rink and a bunch of other extras (and a spa of course)! The cruise leaves out of San Juan, Puerto Rico and goes to the following islands with one day at sea the first day and one in the middle of the week: Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten, St. Thomas and back to San Juan, PR. I keep humming the tune to the Love Boat...LOL. We are super excited!!
